1. Introduction
This AI Tutor Use Policy explains how students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other approved users should use the AI Tutor feature provided by New High Education through the NHE Tutor App.
The AI Tutor is designed to support learning by helping students understand topics, ask questions, practise problem-solving, revise lessons, and receive educational explanations. It is a learning support tool and must be used responsibly, honestly, safely, and for educational purposes only.
By using the AI Tutor, you agree to follow this Policy, the New High Education Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Student Code of Conduct, and any other applicable platform rules.
2. Purpose of the AI Tutor
The purpose of the AI Tutor is to help students improve their understanding of academic subjects and learning concepts.
The AI Tutor may assist students by:
- Explaining difficult topics in simple language
- Providing step-by-step guidance
- Helping with revision
- Supporting homework understanding
- Offering examples and practice questions
- Encouraging independent learning
- Supporting Ghana curriculum-related learning where applicable
- Helping students build confidence in their studies
The AI Tutor is not intended to replace teachers, parents, guardians, textbooks, official curriculum materials, or professional academic instruction.
3. Who May Use the AI Tutor
The AI Tutor may be used by:
- Approved students
- Parents or guardians supporting student learning
- Teachers using the platform for educational support
- Admins and Super Admins managing or reviewing the platform
- Other users authorised by New High Education
Students may be required to have an approved account before accessing the AI Tutor. New High Education may restrict, suspend, or deny access where a user fails verification, misuses the platform, or breaches this Policy.
4. Educational Support Only
The AI Tutor is provided for learning support only.
It may help students understand:
- Class topics
- Homework questions
- Revision problems
- Practice exercises
- Reading and writing tasks
- Science, mathematics, English, social studies, and other approved subjects
- Study skills and learning methods
The AI Tutor should be used as a guide. Students should read responses carefully, think through the explanation, and ask follow-up questions where they need more clarity.
Students should not treat AI-generated answers as automatically correct or final.
5. AI Tutor Limitations
Although the AI Tutor is designed to be helpful, it may sometimes produce responses that are:
- Incomplete
- Incorrect
- Outdated
- Too general
- Not fully suitable for a student’s level
- Not aligned with a particular teacher’s instruction
- Different from official marking schemes or examination expectations
Students should confirm important answers with teachers, textbooks, official curriculum materials, or other trusted educational sources.
New High Education does not guarantee that every AI Tutor response will be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for every situation.
6. Proper Use of the AI Tutor
Students should use the AI Tutor to:
- Understand topics better
- Ask for explanations
- Practise questions
- Revise for tests and examinations
- Learn how to solve problems step by step
- Improve writing, reading, reasoning, and study habits
- Clarify confusing concepts
- Request examples
- Learn from mistakes
- Build confidence in their studies
Good use of the AI Tutor means using it to learn, not simply to copy answers.
7. Prohibited Use of the AI Tutor
Users must not use the AI Tutor to create, request, submit, or support content that is harmful, unsafe, dishonest, illegal, or inappropriate.
Users must not use the AI Tutor to:
- Cheat in homework, tests, examinations, or assessments
- Generate answers for submission without understanding
- Create threats, insults, bullying messages, or harassment
- Produce sexual, violent, hateful, abusive, or discriminatory content
- Request instructions for fraud, scams, hacking, theft, or illegal activity
- Create false information about another person
- Impersonate another student, parent, teacher, admin, or organisation
- Share another person’s private information without permission
- Generate content that encourages self-harm or harm to others
- Produce dangerous advice or unsafe instructions
- Break school rules, examination rules, or Ghanaian law
- Misuse the platform in any way that harms New High Education or other users
Any misuse may result in account restriction, suspension, termination, or further action where necessary.
8. Academic Honesty and Responsible Learning
The AI Tutor must be used in a way that supports honest learning.
Students must not use the AI Tutor to avoid doing their own work. Instead, they should use AI responses to understand the process, learn the topic, and improve their own answers.
Students are encouraged to:
- Ask for explanations instead of only final answers
- Practise similar questions after receiving help
- Write their own answers in their own words
- Follow school and teacher instructions
- Use AI as a study assistant, not a replacement for personal effort
Academic dishonesty includes:
- Copying AI-generated answers directly where independent work is required
- Submitting AI-generated essays, assignments, or projects as fully personal work
- Using AI during tests or examinations where it is not allowed
- Sharing AI-generated answers to help others cheat
- Misrepresenting AI-generated work as original personal work
New High Education is not responsible for academic penalties caused by dishonest or improper use of the AI Tutor.
9. Student Safety
Students must not submit unnecessary personal, private, or sensitive information into the AI Tutor.
Students should avoid sharing:
- Home address
- Passwords
- Payment details
- Private family matters
- Medical information
- Personal identification documents
- Private photos or videos
- Another person’s personal information
- Any information that could put them or someone else at risk
If a student feels unsafe, sees harmful content, or receives an inappropriate response, they should report it immediately to a parent, guardian, teacher, or New High Education.
10. Parent and Guardian Role
Parents and guardians are encouraged to guide students in using the AI Tutor safely and responsibly.
Parents and guardians should:
- Help younger students understand proper AI use
- Encourage students to learn rather than copy
- Monitor usage where appropriate
- Report concerns to New High Education
- Ensure students do not share sensitive personal information
- Support responsible study habits
Where required, New High Education may contact a parent or guardian about safety concerns, misuse, account issues, or learning-related matters.
11. Teacher and Admin Role
Teachers, admins, and Super Admins must use AI Tutor-related access only for approved educational, monitoring, safety, support, or administrative purposes.
They must:
- Protect student privacy
- Use student data only for authorised duties
- Avoid sharing AI Tutor interactions without permission
- Report misuse or safeguarding concerns
- Support responsible AI learning
- Avoid using AI outputs in a misleading or unfair way
Teachers and admins must not use AI Tutor data for personal gain, unauthorised monitoring, discrimination, embarrassment, or improper contact with students.
12. AI Tutor Monitoring and Review
New High Education may review AI Tutor usage for legitimate purposes, including:
- Improving educational quality
- Detecting misuse
- Protecting students
- Preventing abuse, bullying, or harmful content
- Maintaining platform security
- Resolving complaints
- Fixing technical issues
- Improving curriculum relevance and user experience
Monitoring will be handled responsibly and in line with New High Education’s Privacy Policy and applicable data protection obligations.
Users should not assume that AI Tutor interactions are completely private from authorised platform safety and support review.
13. Data and Privacy
When users submit questions or prompts to the AI Tutor, the information may be processed to generate educational responses.
New High Education may collect and process AI Tutor-related data such as:
- Questions submitted
- AI-generated responses
- Learning history
- Account details linked to usage
- Time and date of use
- Feedback on responses
- Technical and performance data
This data may be used to provide the service, improve learning support, investigate misuse, maintain safety, and comply with legal obligations.

14. Accuracy of AI Responses
The AI Tutor may sometimes make mistakes.
Students should be careful with:
- Mathematical calculations
- Scientific explanations
- Legal, medical, financial, or safety-related questions
- Examination marking schemes
- Current events
- Answers requiring official confirmation
- Questions involving personal decisions
Where accuracy is important, students should confirm the answer with a teacher, textbook, official curriculum material, or trusted source.
The AI Tutor is not a professional adviser and should not be used as the only source of truth for important decisions.
15. Curriculum Alignment
New High Education may design or guide the AI Tutor to support Ghana-based learning needs, including relevant curriculum topics where applicable.
However, AI-generated responses may not always perfectly match:
- A specific teacher’s lesson plan
- A school’s internal notes
- NaCCA curriculum documents
- Examination marking schemes
- Official Ghana Education Service guidance
- A particular textbook or study guide
Students should always follow official instructions from their school, teacher, and examination body.
16. No Guarantee of Academic Results
The AI Tutor is a support tool, not a guarantee of academic success.
New High Education does not guarantee:
- Improved grades
- Examination success
- Admission into any school or programme
- Complete understanding of every topic
- Error-free explanations
- Specific academic outcomes
Student progress depends on many factors, including effort, discipline, school attendance, teacher support, revision, practice, and personal commitment.
17. Inappropriate AI Responses
If the AI Tutor gives an answer that appears incorrect, unsafe, inappropriate, offensive, confusing, or unsuitable, users should report it to New High Education.
Reports should include:
- The user’s name
- Student ID, where applicable
- The question asked
- The AI response received
- Date and time of the issue
- Screenshot, if available
- Explanation of the concern

18. Restricted Topics
The AI Tutor may refuse, limit, or redirect certain requests where the content may be unsafe, unlawful, inappropriate, or outside educational support.
Restricted topics may include:
- Self-harm or harm to others
- Sexual content involving minors
- Illegal activity
- Fraud or scams
- Hacking or cyber abuse
- Hate speech or discrimination
- Violence or weapons misuse
- Dangerous medical, chemical, or physical instructions
- Personal data misuse
- Exam cheating or academic dishonesty
- Harassment or bullying
The AI Tutor may provide safer educational guidance where appropriate.
19. User Responsibility for AI Outputs
Users are responsible for how they use AI-generated responses.
New High Education is not responsible for harm or consequences caused by:
- Copying AI responses without checking
- Using AI outputs dishonestly
- Ignoring teacher or school instructions
- Applying AI responses outside their proper educational context
- Sharing AI outputs in a harmful or misleading way
- Using AI-generated content to break laws, rules, or policies
Users must use judgment, honesty, and care when applying any AI-generated information.
20. Changes to the AI Tutor
New High Education may update, improve, limit, suspend, or remove AI Tutor features at any time.
Changes may be made to:
- Improve answer quality
- Strengthen safety
- Add new subjects
- Remove unsafe features
- Improve curriculum relevance
- Fix technical issues
- Manage costs or subscriptions
- Comply with legal or operational requirements
New High Education may make urgent changes without notice where necessary for safety, security, or service protection.
21. Breach of This Policy
If a user breaches this AI Tutor Use Policy, New High Education may take appropriate action.
This may include:
- Warning the user
- Limiting AI Tutor access
- Removing harmful content
- Reviewing account activity
- Contacting a parent or guardian
- Contacting a teacher or admin where appropriate
- Suspending the account
- Permanently terminating access
- Reporting serious unlawful conduct to relevant authorities
The action taken will depend on the seriousness of the breach, the user’s age, risk to others, and whether the conduct is repeated.
22. Appeals and Review
If a user believes their AI Tutor access was unfairly restricted, they may request a review.
Requests should be sent to:

- Explanation of why the user believes the decision should be reviewed
New High Education will consider the request and respond as fairly as possible.
23. Relationship With Other Policies
This AI Tutor Use Policy should be read together with:

Where there is a conflict between this Policy and another New High Education policy, New High Education will interpret the policies in a way that best protects students, platform safety, legal compliance, and educational integrity.

By using the AI Tutor, users confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to follow this AI Tutor Use Policy.
Students are encouraged to ask a parent, guardian, teacher, or authorised New High Education representative for help if they do not understand any part of this Policy.
